IT is at the heart of digital and digitalization, just like current at the heart of electricity or the coil at the heart of the electric motor. It is both an educational tool and a science. As such, we can therefore see that its influence on education is of considerable potential.
As part of the activities of the FIPI program, the FIPI-éducation Project has been set up and represents one of the main activities. Project which aims to allow young learners to find solutions adapted to local realities. And all this using smart objects based on Arduino technology.
In December 2017, FIPI organized for the second time at the Lycée classique de Bafang, a working session over a period of ten days. Working session which took place successfully and during which we noted the participation of more than 35 learners. All average age 16 and with a participation rate of almost 45% among young girls.
During this working session, participants were able to learn the basics of programming and the basics of electronics. At the end of this training, they were able to carry out projects that solve very specific problems specific to their realities. The latter were presented to an audience during an open day specially organized for this purpose. Among the projects carried out, we can cite:
After the realization of the 2017 project, and especially thanks to its success which made a lot of joy, a new working session was organized this time at the St Paul Bilingual College in Bafang. Like the first, this working session spanned ten days. It also welcomed more than 30 learners, all of whom were on average 16 years old. For this project, we will note during open days, the presence of members of the ESG de Erlangen (Association of the Evangelical Community of the city of Erlangen in Germany). Association that made this project possible. In August 2018, as in the previous year, a multitude of projects were carried out, such as:
